Will the Smell Stop?

I changed the oil at 2500 miles with Chevron with no problems. Last weekend I changed oil again at 7400 miles and used Rotella 15-40. I was very careful and didn't spill a drop, and I used the plastic bag trick with the filter and didn't spill. Since the oil change I have a rotten oil smell in the cab if I am sitting at a stop light and today I could smell it just walking by the truck after I parked.
I have about 200 miles since the change. Will it get better or do I need to change to a different brand of oil? I used Rotella in my old Power Stroke and never noticed this problem.
Thanks for any help!

There's a REASON it's called "Rosmella" !

Seriously, the smell eases off as miles and time pass.

Keep using the Delo 400. Rosmella will get into your sinuses and NEVER leave!

Had it when it was new. Went away after a few thousand miles. Had the oil changed at the dealer at 5000 miles. Don't know what brand of oil they used. No smell, though. I'm due for another change. I'll find out what brand they use.

I think your right WhiteSport600! I haven't been in the truck for 3 hours and it seems I can still smell it! I will give it another few hundred miles, but my next change will be back to Delo!

Mine stinks for 1000 miles every time I change the oil. Just got it changed again and I *hope* it doesn't smell as bad as previous changes. It's hard to keep the windows down with the colder weather. Mine had 24k miles at my last change and stunk bad.

I've been using Rotella and yes it stinks for about 1,000 mi. after every change no matter how careful you are about spilling. I may try something else next time, but I have confidence in the Rotella...it is a good detergent oil.

Wal-Mart or just about any auto parts store. Just look for the Chevron Delo 400 15W-40 in the blue quart bottles or gallon jugs.

I just changed the oil with Rotella and had the same smell. I had it the first few thousand miles also. I just extended the crankcase breather tube running it down the frame rail the about the center of the truck. The smell is gone inside the cab now, but you can smell it outside the truck. I waited after reading posts about the smell in the truck, until I changed the oil just to make sure that this mod would help and it did.

Where is this Breather Tube located and what type of hose or parts do I need to extend it?

Guys just be careful extending your breather tube too far that it doesn't freeze up on you. If snow or ice covers the end and seals it, that will spell trouble.
