Smarty for towing
After doing some research around here and listening to the advice of some of you smarter guys, this is what I have come up with for my first mods:
Mag hytec DD trans pan
Smarty
AFE Intake
4 inch exhaust
Suncoast TC
I already have a pyro and trans temp guage.
The trucks main use is to pull a apporx 8-9K lbs trailer. I pull in some real steep long hills in northern california.
Does this sound like a good setup to start?
Is the smarty a good programmer for towing? Which program do you think would be the best, or will I have to experiment for a while.
I supposed I should have asked the question about the Smarty being good for towing before I bought it!

I love my Smarty for towing, I run mine on #7, empty mileage is 19mpg and towing is around 12-14mpg. Typical GCVW is 19,000 with truck, trailer and another truck on.
I would add gauges and definitely put a valve body in with a torque converter.
