ok everyone says how great the smarty is but has anyone had it mess up there tranny or engine or anyother problems because im seriously thinkin bout gettin one....

You WILL smoke your trans if you play with it too much. You CAN get away with it for a while, but eventually you will hurt your tranny without upgrading the TC/VB. If you plan on big #'s or driving like a street light drag racer you may want to invest in I/O shafts.

The smarty has a computer recovery tool that will assist if you unplug or lose power early. It will "boot" the ECM from scratch.

However, I have not heard of the smarty smoking any ecm's like the other downloaders have. Dont think about it, do it. But remember """You're gonna pay to play!!!!!"""

You can seriously mess up your tranny with the smarty. To be fair, you can seriously mess up your tranny with some of the other stuff out there too in the same way. It is up to you to be responsible with the right foot and stay with in the limits of your equipment. The smarty, and others, are capable of putting out more power than your stock tranny can handle. Simple as that. There are little to no safeguards on these higher HP products so you have to use good judgement. If they were all that safe, you wouldn't get the power. For example, I have Smarty and Banks. Both are good products that do what they are designed to do. I've had the Banks for a long time and it has built in safety stuff and I don't think I could make it do something to hurt the truck. But it doesn't make all that much power either. The smarty on the other hand makes a ton of power and will open your eyes!! But, if I am not smart with it it can get you into trouble too. Buy the smarty and leave it on the lower levels until you can beef the tranny, use it wisely and you will be happy.
