I never ran mine past sw3 I did play with the tq a little I jumped between 1 & 2. My tranny lasted about 32k miles with it on there. I have had my built tranny for about a week or so and alls I can say it it's money well spent.

I am a Firm Believer in all trannies are made differently. But it does come down to how you drive it. I wouldn't recommend going past sw5 with a stock auto. BUT, I've had my smarty installed since 18k miles and the truck has 46k now. Yes I have a Stock AUTO. The Smarty has only seen SW7 once the rest of the time it has been on SW9.

i ran the smarty on level 5 for about 6 months without any problems so i decided to turn it up some, loaded up tnt 7 lol ran pretty good for a while but i drive it hard and also had it stacked with a pressure box. i ended up wearing down the front band and getting some flairing between shifts. after i adjusted it it ran fine again untill i upgraded my turbo and snapped a shaft in it going down the hwy

I ran sw3 tq2 rp2 tm4. My truck ran good and my egts always stayed in check. But from the looks of it many guys had good luck with the higher sw's. I guess I was just to chicken to turn it up higher.. Lol...

if your worried about the trans then go with the smarty jr. It has only 3 power levels with the highest being 100hp, which from the sound of it, your probably not even going to select that setting do to your concern for the tranny. It also has the revo software so you will still get all the adjustability as the sr. just trying to figure out why someone would buy the sr, which costs more than the jr, and is capable of 170 hp when they know they are never even going to select that setting.

Navman28, I never said I wasn't going to run higher than a certain level. I'm just asking cause I got the Smarty for a birthday present from my girlfriend and have a stock transmission. It doesn't mean I wont upgrade it ever for more power, it just means at this time its not upgraded and I just want to be safe. Oh yeah and I'm lucky my girlfriend got me the sr cause later on down the road its gonna get cranked up.

Safe and upgrade doesn't go in the same sentence....If you can't afford to go out today and put 5k into your transmission DON'T install the smarty. All it takes is one wrong full throttle and your up a creek. If dropping 5k today doesn't faze your finances then by all means intall it, because all transmissions are built diff. Yours might take a beating, then it might not, I don't know if you bought your truck new or not, but if not what did the previous owner do to the life of the trans. Just my 2 cents.

All I'm saying is I wanna play it safe till I can upgrade my trans and you two don't worry the Smarty will get used to its potential just not right away. For the rest of you who replied thank you for actual help.
