I had an early program from smarty, have not tried the new versions.
The scary larry got better mpg by far than the smarty. It just depends on what you want.I'm waiting to try the next version (milage)from smarty.

The ease of use with my bullydog programers (I've used tripple dog and PMT) is MUCH better than a simple downloader. The adjust on the fly is also very nice.

I am a big fan of Smarty, that's a given. But honestly, the scary larry/ crazy larry programs worked better on 05s than any of the other yrs. I don't think you would be disappointed out of either choice truthfully.

I know the S/L has more power on 05s, but between the 2, what about features, adjustibilities, etc......

I'm not insulting smarty, but to answer your question"what about features, adjustibilities, etc." I'd get the bullydog!

other than adjust on the fly, smarty is the way to go. from 30hp to 170hp with or without timing. the customer service that Bob and Marco provide are BAR NONE the best, being able to adjust speed limiting, setting for 1/2 power so your son cant pistol whip the truck when he takes his girlfriend out on a date!, not erasing the key cycles, return to stock so the dealer CANT find it,

need i say more.

you should look for CReed. he's a bullydog fan that recently acquired a beta 4.4 smarty so i think he would be the best candidate for first hand info/facts!

Im a loyal smarty fan but if I was going for max HP which it looks like you are since this is title smarty vs craxy larry(+220hp on 05's) I go with the BDDL

Ive never had a BDDL and all this info Ive picked up from here

There's alot of 05 auto members that have CL and make a ton of HP. Its very possable to get 600hp with an 05, CL, sps66, MP8, FASS

Anyother year and id get a smarty.

try a search you will fine tons of threads about smarty and BDDL

Just to give you guys a little update on the smarty beta 4.4 that Creed and I did some testing on yesterday. My truck is a early 06 with stock inj, turbo, and tranny with Glacier, 5"exh an s&b intake. The new 4.4 beta went 13.04 @ 103mph the Diablo went 13.33 @ 99mph and the BD with a tune similar to S/L Bud sent went a best of 13.70 @ 101mph. This was all done with a TST on 3/3 on pressure 0. We plan on doing some testing today at Houston with Smarty and Quad beta on CReeds truck an im sure he will post results. Also we talked to another guy who had tried both Smarty and BD yesterday an his truck the Smarty went 12.60 and BD went 13.20 not sure what other mods he had. So if your looking for adjustability or mpg the BD might be way to go but for track its all Smarty for me. Thanks Bob
