Does the smarty allow for boost fooling or increase? i have read their site many times and maybe i missed it, but i don't see where it says it will increase the boost to deal with the added fuel. also i'm a little confused as to what added timing does. The power levels seem the same for added or stock timing... I dont get it.

one more thing, the new POD version is pretty much the same thing, but allows you to plug it in while you're driving and change things??

The smarty boost fools up to the stock ECM's limit to read it... I think it's 42 or 44 PSI. Anything over that throws a code. The boost will increase with added fuel, as long as you can provide enough fuel to support it. If you are limited by your lift pump, CP3 or injectors, you are not going to see added boost.

Added timing does a few things. (I am not expert on this) Increasing timing increases your cylinder temp, reduces your EGT's, and adds MPG. There is a lot more to it than that, but I'm not terribly educated about it.

PoD: Yep, change the power levels from 00-99 on the fly.

Well i have an airdog 150 so i dont think fuel will be an issue... at least i hope not.

On the low pressure side it may not be, but what about rail pressure? Do you have any CP3 mods? Rail pressure gauge?

No cp3 mods. I have a quad module which sucks cuz the 100 hp its supposed to have is more like probably 60-70 hp. every once in awhile it will wake up and work right, but it's rare. when it does work right, you can definately feel the 100 hp, but like i said, it's rare. I sent it back once already and it came back doing the same thing, definately not 100 hp, so i figured i might as well upgarde to a smarty.

Make sure that your contacts are cleaned well with that quad... try a little dielectric grease... just a dab. Make sure that the ground wire going to the module has a good contact.

Smarty doesn't boost fool. it remaps the boost tables to the limit of the MAO voltage range. That allows the fueling tables to keep going without running out of matches and throwing codes.

You should see instant boost and power increase on a bone stock truck. SW 5 should easily push boost to and over 40 psi.

What are your boost numbers doing? If you are still only seeing stock or slightly higher numbers the WG off option in the Smarty and see if your truck will accept it.

With my quad i'm seeing about 40 psi or so, but i'm not happy with the power level i should be getting from it so i'm leaning toward the smarty.

What are the torque numbers with the smarty? all i see on the site is hp numbers of 170 hp increase. So how much torque increase?

I'd have to look at my manual, but I do not think that it advertises it. Everyone's truck reacts differently... the advertised numbers are on a stock truck...

for our trucks, you can usually double the horsepower to get the torque.

HOLY COW!!!! wish i would have gotten the smarty sooner... funny thing, wheni first installed it and went for a test run, stood on the skinny pedal at about 50 mph, the traffic behind me disappeared in the smoke... could not see anything behind me and the truck took off like a bat outta hell
