I sold my smarty to a friend and we both have 06s. It works on mine but don't work on his. Yes, I took it off of my truck before trying to install it on his but when we get to the 'connect truck' part it says UNKOWN SOFTWARE. What does that mean? Did they reflash his computer at the dealer to a newer tune that the smarty doesn't recognize? Is there a different program we can download on the website that will work?

What yr model is the truck you are having issues with, and what program is loaded on the Smarty???

Yes, your friends truck has a different software. Has he had the newest flash? If not, then that is the issue. You are on the right track, what software version are you using is the question.

I'm not sure what software is on the smarty. I bought it, put it on my truck, and never touched it. I think the dealer flashed his computer when he had it in to get someting fixed about a month ago. Is there a software on the mads website we can use to fix this?

Go to the MADS website and download the latest software. Follow the instructions for the down load. You have to also download 7 zip and something else (again, follow the instructions) and that should make it work.

If not, PM or call Bob Wagner and he can walk you through it. The issue is not the smarty so much as differing DC flashes.
