Thanks for the replies,
Let me start by saying this set work very well.
Power is instant with only heavy haze under hard acceleration. It feels spot-on. (Smarty on #3.
I have two issues,
1 Loud clatter first thing in the morning when Cold 40 degrees or less.
2 I cant drive up a small hill without seeing haze in the headlights behind me. (not good if a trooper happens to be behind you).
If I run Smarty for aftermarket injectors it will not haze at all, but EGTs & Power & Mileage are greatly affected.
Are you guys having these issues??
thanks doug

Winner winner chicken dinner!
I have 3.5's and run my smarty on #5 everyday (after market turbo/aftermarket injectors program). Marco posted a little while ago he has done his research and the Smarty will not give you excessive timing, if you are running the proper program (ie aftermarket injectors with aftermarket injectors).

You may be getting too much timing running the stock injector program with your injectors, remember big injectors increase timing on their own. My mileage has gone up hand calculated against my previous downloader. As far as Haze big sticks big fuel, your gonna get some haze, but as long as your not blacking out the sun you should be ok. Heck tell him you havent cleaned your air filter in a while .
I havent run the stock injector program so I cant help ya, but my mech told me ambient temps below 40 or so these trucks tick and knock a little more.

If I could just reduce the timing a degree at a time to find the sweet spot.
Does the Rokkteck sensor work in reverse?? That might do it.

All flux injectors reduce ignition time by at least 2 degrees VS a stock injector.
The liquid phase ( time the fuel has not vaporized ) VS a stock nozzle is longer.
This is LESS timing than an engine would have with the same mods.

With my previous 90 HP honed 3-flows it was "rattle can central" with the aftermarket injector Smarty non-timing + TST.

Doug, the best way I found to tune timing is to run the smarty on no timing or timing reduction...afterm inj/afterm turbo and use the TST to adjust the timing...on 1 timing only. Your truck was in the shop at Mass Diesel the week before mine...Yours was the white dually with alllllllll the dark black soot on the the rear quarter wasn't it. ks
