Smarty and TST Stacked?
Is the smarty and tst stacked a good combination? What can I expect (power gains)from running both together. What settings together work the best? What.. if any.. down falls does this combo intail? I have the TST now and im looking for the best stacked combo to work well with what I have now..
Thanks,
Thanks,

I really like the two together. The most hp on the dyno was smarty on 9 and the tst on 4 and torque on 0. I made 523hp on that set-up. I have since then made a lot of changes to my truck. Every truck will run different and will run different on the same settings. I've always liked the stack. However just running around on the street I leave the tst turned off.

Thanks Coal Train... Is your truck a Auto or Manual? What other mods do you have done. Also do you feel with the tst and smarty that its to much for the street?
Thanks

Without seeing the new Quad X2 and what it will do, right now, I think (and others will disagree with me, just to be fair) that the tst is the best stack with smarty. Like coal train said, every truck is different and in the tst installation guide they specifically talk about stacking with smarty and to not call them for "what is best settings" because every truck is different with different mods and will respond differently. Therefore you have to play around to see what works best for you. TST and Smarty together is not too much for street. But again, you have to experiment to see where you like it best. THe caveat and warning here though is that you have the other supporting mods necessary to make it work properly!

I absolutely love this stack. I've got an MP-8 thrown in the mix sometimes too. Its mean, but takes some time to get what works right. Lots of different settings to choose from.

I run with the tst off on the street until i want to run someone. its not too much for the street, just run it on the settings you want. you are gonna need some kind of aftermarket turbo with this setup. I havent played with mine all that much but I run the smarty on 8 and the tst on lower levels. up in the rpm the tst will drain my rail on higher levels. smarty/tst and a turbo will put down 500 on about any 04.5 and newer. its a powerful setup

I dont know how much power you gain by adding the tst with the smarty but you pertty much get infinant adjustabiltiy. I am also have some beta softwares in my smarty so I would have to assume that the tst will make more of a diff with the orinail programs. Since the beta versions add pressure I dont even use my mp8 anymore.
FWIW it tows like crazy too.

Once you find the sweet spot for your settings, you'll be amazed. Even running no pressure, the Smarty/TST stack works great.
I was always over 500 on the dyno with this stack, unless I asked for a little too much fuel. Then it was all smoke and no power. My poor little CP3 couldn't keep up.
It was really nice to have the Smarty on 7 or 9, then use the TST to add increments of increased timing and fuel. It's really a good way to find your "kill" settings for the track.

I have ran TST R49, EZ and Smarty for over a year now. It is a great stack combo for me. It takes a lot of testing and tuning to find the right combination for what type of driving you are doing (racing, towing, etc.). For daily driving I run Smarty SW#5, TST 05tt program, Timing 3* Auto, set 3/0 and EZ on Level 1. It is about the same as Smarty SW#4, TST 05tt program Timing 12* Auto, set to 3/0 and EZ on Level 1. This dynos a little over 400rwhp on mine and is good all around daily driving.
Of course then I load a new Smarty version and have to go throught all the testing and tuning again. But it is all good.
Track for me is SW #8, TST 03tt, timing 15* Auto, set to 4/1 and EZ on 2. Hot and smokey and runs 12.7s pretty easy.

It is a manual truck. I also have a MP8 in the mix. Its not too much for the street if you leave the settings down low. You can fry a stock charger in a heartbeat by running around with programs on higher settings ripping around. With this combination it will build heat extremely fast. I have an aurora 5000 on my truck. Its just all in what you want the truck to do. Make sure you have a pyrometer to watch how hot your getting and keep the settings on the low side and you should be safe.
