Smarty and too much smoke

Last week I received the smarty and I like the power. The power is very similar to a flashpaq but a little more bottom end. My complaint is that the thing just smokes too much. The unit was new with the latest programming. I am only running it on level 3. Does anyone know of another program on the smarty I could download that would not be embarassing to drive? The egts were supposed to go down also and I have not seen that, but I have seen and increase. At full throttle empty stock was 1200 and with the smarty I let off of it around 1300. I have sent an email to Mads electronics about my issues and if they have a less smoke program but have yet to receive a response. I bought the smarty for mileage and the ability to correct speedo, and for retaining warranty, I have yet to drive it enough for mpg results. The speedo correction worked great. Any help would be appreciated. Also woud a quad boost fooler help with excess smoke?

try downloading a program from mads for aftermarket turbo/stock injectors. the after turbo program does boost fooling. but it is still going to smoke if you get on the pedal. try driving gently.

How much boost would I see with this aftermarket turbo? Would it be safe?

I don't think the Smarty smokes all that much..... Just don't mash the throttle.

Feed it the fuel.

I did not see any smoke on #3 unless I tried.

Bah, might as well keep going at that point

And I wish I had some smoke, my truck doesnt smoke at all, even with edge on 4/5, all I get is a slight haze, or a small cigar smoke sized puff...

Smoke is controlled by your right foot. Go easy on the pedal and no smoke, mash the pedal at low rpms and it will smoke like a freight train.

I'm running 75hp injectors, stock turbo, Stock airbox and clean paper filter, Good supply of fuel, and I can run sw9 with virtually no smoke....But I do have my wastegate disabled. Do you have a boost elbow on your turbo and what levels of boost are you getting....If you're smoking your air filter must be plugged or you are not getting enough boost before the wastegate opens. Smoke is not enough air to match the fuel....pretty simple. I smoked more on the aftermarket injectors/stock turbo program.

I have the same problem with the smarty smoking up my trailer on long trips with the stock injector software.... so Bob suggested I try the aftermarket injector software. It killed all the smoke........ but the loss of timing brought my towing egts back up 200 into the red zone. So Im back to running the smokey stock injector programs for my pistons sake and hope that when I get a charger it ill clean up the smoke. Or maybe Ill be lucky and Bob will have Marco make me a non smokin stock injector program so I can have the timing for egts but no smoke on my 50K trailer

My big **** trailer luggin down the motor doesnt help much though

I could always get a turndown tip but I hate the look

Did I mention smoke or no smoke I love the smarty and couldnt drive without it

I use level 3.....it only smokes when i mash the pedal at low rpm's......and on the freeway if i punch it....other than that, no worries.....FYI, no to minimal smoke is not one of the smarty's advertised strong points....most of us like it!

Your truck is almost identical too mine...including the trueflow intake.....my egt probe is pre turbo....stock i could hit 1400* (same with my 05....i think your stock baseline is a tad off), with my version of the smarty (level 3), i cant get to 1300* from 0-100mph.
