Smarty Advice

I am going to tune my truck this week with my new Smarty. I have a little over 1000 miles on the truck (I put on 600 miles a week) and am looking for better fuel economy and a little more off the line power. I was thinking either #1 or #3. What does everyone think? Everything else is stock on the truck. Is the 60 hp tune safe to run with stock exhaust?

Thanks,
Rob

Should be safe with the stock tranny on level 3. If you're easy on the truck higher levels are ok.
Either way I would recommend a set of gauges (boost, EGT) if you don't already have them.

I run mine on #5 with the regular smarty program. now I do have a lot of mods but I baby my truck big time and its doing just fine. No noises or trans slip or anything like that at all. I did get 2mpg jump with the smarty on level 5 but if you run it on 3 or 1 you might get even better. Im not sure I always leave mine on 5.

nothing (including stock) is "safe" without guages.....think of it as cheap insurance. well, cheap considering the cost of a new engine!

Definitely go for gauges soon! It was my first mod, I decided if I could afford the truck I certainly could afford the gauges.

with Smarty on level 1 I got 18.7 MPG from albuquerque to san diego and back (2007 miles round trip). I have been playing with level 3 now and get better mileage, just have to do the math but so far the liar upper console is reading higher and i am lasting longer on a tank. I can slip the tranny on level 3 when it is in lockup and i hammer it so be careful. I know each truck is different but I don't think the 37" tires are helping that situation. GET YOURSELF GAUGES TOO! I can hit 1450 pretty quick if I hammer it and stay in it.

Smarty on 3

I got mine about two months ago ran it on 1 for 2 tanks and then put it on 3 lots of power and at least as good mileage as stock If you lug it it and then floor it you will have smoke like you wouldn't believe I try not to get into it too much I will probably put it on 5 soon and try that I can't even imagine what 7 or 9 would do
