Theres two different Smartys boss. Look on the box....mine was an S04 unit. When you plug the Smarty in, it should also come up on the screen.

Well I had an email with links and files to download. I dont think I have the right driver installed, and Im having trouble figuring this out!

Anybody know, shoot I even tried to follow the instructions, but I hooked up my smarty before I turned the internet off, so it installed the driver in an unknown location.

Boss,
Contact TexasCTD, he or someone might be close enough to you and can help with the installation and downloading.

I feel your pain, Boss!

It took me over 6 hours of computer time spread out over a few weeks to get the Smarty updated so it would load on the '05 (SW that Smarty shipped with had a glitch).

Everything you need is on the Mads website, although it can be a challenge to figure out what to do when with the 7-zip tool, USB.exe and downloader (or is that compression?) utility.

Still not sure exactly how I did it - kept trying different things until XP decided to be friends with Marco's stuff... thanks to Bob for responding to so many emails! His product support was encouraging!

Well Im pretty sure I installed the driver right, but not sure if I even recieved the S04 4.4 program. Would this be on there site, or would he have to had sent it to me?

Thats where Im at now, I think I have the 7zip, but no file to enter when I open the Smarty exe file. Basically no smt. file!
...or am I missing something?

Bob asks what version number for the SMARTY before sending the beta file. Using the 7zip tool to un-archive the beta file to a local folder so the Smarty.exe can find the *.smt file.

I got hung up there too - you have to right click the SW file version you downloaded and select "extract to" with the .7z so it'll be converted to a .smt file extension.

Just keep clicking stuff - you'll get it!
