Unhappy Sluggish

It all started two days ago, truck was running fine prior to servicing it .
oil change, front and rear diff. drain and refill , drained fuel filter at water purge valve. Truck ran rough for a couple minutes after fuel filter drain but cleared up. Upon driving home I noticed it just seemed I had to press the throttle down a little more to get it going and maintain speed. any info would be appreciated

When was the air filter replaced Don't trust that filter minder, actually pull it out and look at it. You will be amazed at what it might actually have in it.
What brand of fuel filter did you use Mine did the same thing for the first few hucdred miles after the fuel filter change also. It also started smelling real bad in the cab when stopped.
Also double check your diffs level, if they are too full that can be bad
It may sound crazy but it may be that you are getting too much fuel do to a clean fuel filter ar possibly that due to the new filter not enough fuel flow because it is still trying to properly saturate the media to maintain a good flow.

I didn't replace the fuel filter , I just opened the valve to remove any water from filter housing. As far as the air filter ,it looks pretty good . The truck only has 8500 miles on it. I have also noticed a drop of 1.5 mpg loss on the over head. I did bump the diff. fluid up to Red Line 80w-140 in the rear diff. but I didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Rechecked level both at 1/4 inch below fill hole. The fluid that came out seemed thinner than 80w-90 and it was pretty nasty for having such low milage. I'am wondering if the rough running sent this into some type of limp mode.

I didn't replace the fuel filter ,

Change the filter. You will be surprised how black a new truck filter will be. Also get in there and wipe out the bowl without damaging the water sensor. Diffs will not send a Dodge into ecm limp mode. Go for a empty run then place your hand on the pumkin. How warm/hot is it? Who serviced your truck? You our someone else?

Mr. Johnson hit it on the head... FUEL FILTER. Your truck was running properly before you drained it. It burped afterwards. Somehow you moved all the bad junk right into the filter media.

Remember - No matter what the problem seems to be in a diesel... CHANGE THE FILTERS.

I was pulling a 30' SeaRay north to Lake Champlain with my '91 CTD, my son riding shotgun. Long about 120 miles into the trip he pulled out the owner's manual and asked... Did you change the tranny oil and filter at 24k miles? And you know what my answer was.

North of Albany about 100 miles (pitch black and in the middle of nowhere) the truck does sort of a jerk back and forth like it was trying to shift down. We both looked at each other and decided to ignore what we had just felt. Long story short, it got worse... MUCH WORSE!

We limped into Essex and started to try and diagnose the problem at daybreak. Tranny oil wasn't burned and nothing seemed out of order. We called the Dodge dealers in Plattsburg and in Burlington. Neither of them had ever seen a diesel. Thus, we very carefully drove the 350 miles home and called our local dealer. He picked up the truck on a flatbed and pronounced a bad TPS.

Everything seemed fine for a couple of weeks until I tried to pass a slow vehicle on a local road. I thought I'd never get around him. Toward the end of the day I couldn't hold 30 mph, but I'd been smart enough to pick up a fuel filter. Changed it - End of problem.

Three CTD's since the '91, but the lesson remains. If she dogs out and smokes, you better be changing filters.
