Sluggish drag comp

A friend of mine just installed a drag comp on his 99. He said it is sluggish and blows very little smoke. Has anyone had these problems?

What fuel pressure does he have? I bet his lift pump is bad & a VP44 is in the near future.

Well there isn't much we can do without gauges. That will kinda tell us what to look for.
Putting on a Drag Comp and not having gauges
Tell him he needs to get a FP gauge ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not get it checked but get a gauge. It could be fine at idle but suck it dry at WOT. Don't know without a gauge.

Tell him not to turn that box on until he gets the gauges in or he will need alot more money, like $1100 for vp44 & $200 for a lift pump. Just trying to help.
