I biult my own traction bars for my truck. You can use either or Class 1 or Class 2 3rd arms off of a 3 point hitch on a trator. I got mine from work. But you can get them at any Tractor Supply co. or COOP. I used Class 2 arms. They have a one inch bolt through the ends to hold them on. A Class 1 uses a 3/4 bolt. Cut the links in half and get some schedule 80 1/4 wall tubin. If you know some one with a lathe or have acess to one you can turn the ends of the links down and press fit them into the tubin. Then weld a bead around them to keep them in place. Everyhting all together I think I have bout $45 in mine. The are bout 6 ft long. I jus made my own to save on money.

deereguy, what is the inside diameter of schedule 80 0.25" wall? I have been toying with the idea of making mine using class 2 toplinks but I couldn't find anything i.d. that matches the top link's o.d.

Within the next few weeks my shop should be up and running and i plan on making and selling some custom traction/ladder bars for people in several different styles depending on the customers wants and needs. Plus I dont plan on marking them up so the customer can get the best deal possible, and I do plan on shipping them anywhere they need to go.

Schedule 80 would be pipe, not tubing.
Tubing has a normal ID and OD.
HREW, CREW, DOM or Seamless would be easier to work with.
I'll say it again as well, tractor links belong on the farm, not under your truck, but do what you want to do.

The top link od was 1.7". I looked all over for DOM, the only thing I could find was a special order that I would have to either machine the tubing or machine the link. Cost was like $20/ft. What would the problem be using top links for a little competition? $700-800 is a lot for a set of bars.
