what size wheel and tire?
Guys,
I'm wanting to put on some new wheels and tires, but not sure how big i can go and still get the truck in the garage.
I have BFG 285/70/17 on stock wheels now and have probably 3-4 inches clearance before hitting garage door opener.
I'd like to have some 18" wheels with appropriate size tires. I'd like to keep about the same height I have now maybe an 1-2" taller.
Any suggestions on some combos? Getting 18" wheels totally messes me up when trying to figure overall height because the wheel width wouldn't be the same. I don't know if that matters much, but I would think it would be some.
I don't want to take my best estimate and then the truck not fit in the garage even though it would look AWESOME!!!!!
What are you guys opinions on this please?
Thanks

Its easy to figure out, there a website that has a Metric Tire to Inches Conversion Calcuator, so u can figure how tall the tire is. A 285/70/17 is 32.7in tall 11.2in wide, im going with a 325/60/18 whis is 33.4in tall and 12.8in wide. Hope this helps.

keep in mind that different brands of tires will not be the same height even if they are the same size, and the width of the wheel could affect it slightly. And your only gaining in height half the difference in the new vs. old tires. 33" to 35" = 2". Your truck will be @ 1" taller.
