Size of nut on fan clutch ? 92 CTD in W250

Well I don't have any open end wrenches larger than 1 inch and can't get down in there real well to measure.
So I was hoping someone could tell me the size of this nut before I run to town. It'd be pleasant to get the right part on the first trip just ONCE this weekend.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,
I am sure on the size, but if you have an Advance Auto, or Auto Zone close by you can rent the clutch fan wrench set and save yourself some dollars.

You'll need a 1 7/16ths fan clutch wrench which is thinner than a normal wrench.....

Not absolutely positive, as I am going on year-ago memory, but I am pretty sure that the clutch requires a 33MM wrench.

I took some 1/8 x 1 strap iron and welded up a real good one, using a clutch-not-on-a-truck as a pattern.

I also made a wrench to hold the drive pulley still.

1 7/16 end wrench and a ball peen hammer and it will come right off. Just smack the wrench with the hammer in the counter clock wise direction.

Well I rented the wrench set from advanced and they are too big and slip.
I mic'd the new one and it works out to 1.415
Going to just make one but wanted to confirm the nut is lh thread before I yank on it with my home made wrench.

Thanks again,

Brian
