size of boost gauge
I have an 04.5 and plan on buying a smarty jr, mainly a daily driver / tow vehicle.
What size boost gauge should I buy? Since I have a stock intake, I am assuming I should buy the boost bolt for easy hook up.

Well... your user name is never enough... I'd go with an 80
I have a 60, and it has done me well all but once. If you are going to stick fairly close to stock, then a 40 will do fine.
If have an idea you are going to go bigger someday, get the 60 or 80 now.
A boost bolt will do you fine, but tapping is free.

A good rule of thumb is to use a gauge that will put your normal readings from 15% to 85% of the scale of the gauge. Guages are most acurate in that range. On a 0-35# you would be looking at between about 4# and 31#. On a 0-60# you would want to be between 9# and 51#. With the Smarty I would imagine you would see more than 31#, but I haven't seen typical boost numbers for the smarty.

Thanks for the suggestions - I am going with the ISS gauges so they match the factory gauages. Looks like I will get the 60psi gauge. One guy asked about mounting, I purchased the cluster below. Designed for a 2006 truck but I think I can shave the sides to fit the contour of the 2004.5 dash. I will get a boost, Pyro, trans temp, and likely the 4th will be the low pressure fuel pressure gauge.

See the link below, member from this forum suggested it to me. Price was kind of pricy $200 but I caved in due to the factory look and it really is the best place for gauges. I was going to go with the over head gauges above the rear view mirror but I do not think that I would look at them enough. With this gauge cluster, my eyes may be on the gauges too much. Again the cluster is made for the 06 and newer dash but I think I can get it to work.
