If you have any questions feel free to ask. I did the conversion in my parents drivway in about 5 hours. It's an easy conversion. The only thing I did not do that you're uposed t do with a"kit" is use a new larger crossmmber. I just turned the old crossmember around backwards and it bolted right up uing the 5spd tranny mount.

Yeah. Over-all I spent about $1600 on te conversion. You have to lengthen the front drve shaft exacty 5-1/2"s and shorten the rear driveshaft 5-1/2"s. You use the 5s slave cyl You can use the old flhweel or buy a new one for a 13" clutch(like in the new trucks). I just used my old flywheel. and bought an adapter clutc through Southbend. (sorry my keyboard sucks) It'san easy swap. The only pain in the **** wastrying to use a floorjack as a tranny jack. Being the NV5600 is more round than flat it was not easy to get it to stay.

I have been very happy with mine so far, though I have had no synchro in 2nd since I got it out of the crate, and now the reverse synchro is out as well. Don't ask how, but it kind of makes me mad. I am not going to say where I got it just yet, unless they will not work with me on a fix for my $2800 purchase from them. If they want to play hardball, I will drop the bomb. You will be very happy with the 6'er.. you will have a gear for every range, except 100+ hehe...

I wasn't too happy with my 6spd eithr, I only paid $1,000 for mine though. The synhros are coming apart and the reverse grinds. I thin'k it was simply becauseof the price I paid for it. it was supposedly "dyno tested" but I think I just got a badone, I bought mine through some arizona company. Not ever again tho. Im taking the tranny to te shop next week for overhaul. It served it's purpose for a year I supoose.

Re:Six Speed Conversion
The six is well worth the money i got mine off of ebay for 800 it was a as is tranny.... 3rd gear synco doesnt work most of the time with down shifts. oh well tap the throttle and it drops right in. Spend the money on a conversion/ redrilled flywheel and use the 13" clutch the 12.25" clutches are prone to ripping the center hub out for some reason when used with the larger input. something about the dampening ability of the disk and absorbing the torque upon engagement. I blew three clutch hubs out.... not hot rodding...all three were warranteed and then the company finally told me that they had discontinued the 12.25 conversion clutch because of the center hubs ripping out.
Otherwise good choice the 6er's 4th gear is almost perfect for pulling most moutain 2 lane steep passes and not loosing your speed.

Oh yeah use a sand bag or two to steady the nv5600 when pulling it they will take care of alot of the problem with the round bottom on the tranny

Re:Six Speed Conversion
As said before, the 6-sped is a picky, whiney, fit-throwing tranny. Kinda like some marriages. when things are going good, things are great, but when things are bad it's bad.
My 6-speed is awesome, it loves to be speed shifted (Using clutch) and it pulls the hills great, although I never have to downshift, (I have enough power), there is always the right gear for the speed. Sometimes, it doesn't want to go into 1st, or 2nd. and it throws a fit going into reverse, unless I shift to 5th or 6th first.
I would try www.blumenthalmfg.com that's where I got mine.

Re:Six Speed Conversion
With all the problems & expense of the 6spd why not just add an overdrive instead? If bought used, it'd definitely be cheaper (based on my $900 purchase price) &, I think, simpler.

Re:Six Speed Conversion
well the 6 spd has the bigger input shaft so i woulndt have to change that out in the 4500 and the 5600 is a stronger transmisson overall.....one of those trucks you drive to and home from the pulls..

most don't seem to hold up well to higher hp trucks, especially the gear vendors.
