The DTR has performed some upgrades to the site this morning. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our users. In order to better serve you, these upgrades had to take place. You'll notice some changes, and some of the smilies aren't working, but that will be taken care of very soon. If you have problems or questions, please let us know.

What!? No pretzel in the logo? ;D
FWIW, when I logged in found that I was now registered as a guest and had to re-log in. No problem.

That'll happen because the cookies have changed. If you run into that problem again, clear your cookies and your cahce, and all should be fine.

Alright! Thanks!

Can you do the "show last 50" instead of 10?

Hey Jack!

How about links to the Ford and Chevy forums on the Dodge forums so we can quickly jump between the boards?

Good plan. It'll take me some time, but I'll get that done.

HEY HEY, KUDOOS. GOOD JOB. ;D (I really miss my upchuck smiley tho! :'( ) Ya ya ya, I know, can't please them all, can you. :P

Seriously, I like it. Just takes a lot of time, doesn't it. And you fix one thing and another breaks. Flashing arrows, even yet - - wow. Keep up the good work and I'll buy coffee and donuts.

Just out of curiosity,

What about linking Site News; Site Suggestions, News and Comments; General Diesel; Other; Towing and Hauling/RV; and Chapters forums across all 3 boards instead of try to start new ones? There is a lot of good information for all. Those forums are really not Brand specific and are beneficial to all involved on the boards.

JACK - and any others involved - MY hat is off to ya BIG TIME!

You have managed to restore the separation and independence some of us Dodge owners valued in the "old" format, while still allowing relatively seamless access to the new forums - an absolutely FABULOUS job! ;) ;D ;D ;D

I second that - RV info is valuable to ALL RVers, regardless of what brand truck is doing the towing... Might take a little effort to separate TRUCK issues from RV issues - but doable!

For instance, a post concerning a specific brand trucks performance or problem when RV towing would be better segregated to that brand truck's area than the RV section, but our alert moderators are more than up to the task... ;D ;D ;D

I think that Jack addressed another similar post concerning the HELP section and his reply was "I tend to agree with you on that, but I chose the lazy way for now. The code was much easier to hack this way then what you're talking about."

hehehe. exactly.

Tell you guys what. I'll start charging a monthly fee which will pay me for my development time. THEN, I can do all of these things. ;)

In all seriousness, I want to do some of these things guys, but just moving this stuff over and upgrading has taken me 8 hours, so imagine all the work that's involved with what you're talking about.

(there should be a smiley here)

They work, but the extra ones I added a long time ago don't work right now because of the upgrade. I'm aware of it. Thanks.

Hack no, I know how it feels when the fingers start rejecting the brains commands except to lift that beer at the end of the day ; D. Jack and all of you have done an awesome job. You really took to heart what your members had asked for after the big change. There is a lot to be said for that. I really enjoy this site before the additions of other brands, and after, and now. I just was throwing out a suggestion. I have no problem navigating or running multiple screens. Heck I most of the time keep this site up most of the day on my right hand monitor.

I guess I got caught in the switches!! ???
I regestered today right before the upgrade
When I tried to log in tonight I couldn't, it said wrong password, when I hit forgot password it said my screen name didn't exist, when I tried to reregister it said my screen name was taken & there was already an account at my email addy. fortunatly I still had the email you sent with the original password.
I lost all my profile stuff but I'm back up now.
Also the posts I put up before the upgrade is missing!!

Just noticed something else that has gone odd with the change.

The "users online" at the bottom of the page used to have them listed alphabetically, now it seems very random.

Also, none of the "Add YABBC tags" buttons work, good thing I remember most of the important ones.

I hadn't really noticed the "users online" , but I see what you're talking about. I guess it doesn't make much difference to me. It may be something that Jack can look at later.
Jack is aware of the YABBC tags not being like they used to be (with the pop-up windows) and he said he will get to that. In the meantime, I found that by high-lighting the word or words by clicking the left mouse button and then click the font color or the tag buttons on the top, they still work OK for now.
It will take time to get the board functions similar to what they were and some things may not be able to be changed due to the forum software, but rest assured that we are taking note of the suggestions. ;D

Definately a great set of upgrades, Jack. I must say the site has a fresh appeal, and new functionality to boot.

but why are my email notifications coming in w/o the whole URL?

That should be fixed now. If not, let me know and I'll keep looking into it. I did some mods on that this morning.

Thanks for the compliments. It's appreciate. To be honest though, it's really the users who made this decision. I think the site is cleaner though in terms of information and ease of use for the forums. I found that having all three brands on one forum index was a pain for me, and I didn't read it as much because it was so cumbersome.

Hey Jack. Great switch. I love it. Quick suggestion. When I'm done posting, and I'm back at that particular forum (say Dodge High performance) and I want to get a look at the whole Dodge forum, I have to click on the forum button at the top, then on the Dodge forum to get back. While this is in no way hard, I am lazy ;). I was thinking bout maybe keeping the Dodge forum link a constant "ON" link. That way you could click it whenever and you could get a look at the whole forum and see what new posts (if any) have been put up. You understand what I am saying?
