A single turbo for my 2003?

I've been watching the discussions pass through here and TDR for about a year about the aftermarket turbos available and what people are seeing for results but I still can't make up my mind.

My truck is a daily driver and I don't tow nearly enough. When I do it's only about 8k worth. I'm looking to be around 500 rwhp when I've exhausted my Visa card. I'd like twins but $4000+ is just too much.

So is there consensus on a single turbo that gets it done for smoking the ricers on the way to work?

Thanks,
Andy

Don't you get really bad turbo lag with just the addition of a Better turbo? What else is required when switching the turbo over? Injectors?

Not with a 3rd gen, they spool turbos very easily.
Some lag, but minimal.

Thats my opinion.

This is my $.02 on turbos and suppliers. I've talke to most of the suppliers that the guys on this forum and TDR use. Recently I was directed to Lenny at Dynomite Diesel (XXXXXXXXXXXXX). And this is why I mention Lenny. He won't sell you an off the shelf one size fits all kind of a turbo. You know what I mean,...you've seen the adds as have I,...if you have 350HP you need this turbo, and above 450hp you need this turbo or twins if your above 500hp. Here's the difference. Lenny wants to know everything you've done to your truck (intake, exhaust, box or boxes, how you use the truck,..how you want to use your truck, there is a difference, do you tow, how much, what are your present egts and under what conditions, what about boost and under differing conditions, tranny or clutch upgrades etc, etc). That's
what I'm talking about. Then he'll make a recommendation and the price won't approach the numbers you have above. What I'm talking about here is a custom designed turbo for YOUR truck,...not Billy Bob's. That's my take and also where I'm going for my turbo and that's why.

My suggestion, B1-04, Killer B2 or the sled puller 66.

Floor It are those hp and tq numbers on your 03 just with the mods that you have listed? I am just curious because I have not put my truck on the dyno yet. Oh and also what settings do you get the most out of your TST stack. Thanks, Mike

I would give Paul a call, at High Tech Turbo. The Sledpuller 66 is amazing and no more surging what so ever. The Lag time is not that noticeable either. I really haven't noticed it to be much different than the KillerB 64, just more air and cools better.

bearww -- have you dyno'ed that beast?
TST plus pressure, and a sledpuller 66? -- thats GOT TO be a 500hp rig, right?

RossN2 - I have not forgotten about you... I am having a hard time getting anyone to go 27k on your truck

here is where I stand
Your new truck = $33131.00
your trade in - so far 25K -- still working, That is why I not gotten back to you

Difference of 8,131.00

Again, I am sorry for the delay - I am interested in selling trucks, It just sometimes is not as fast with a trade - Heck, we have been busy enough that we have sold about 10 diesel in the last week or so
