Silverline opinions for quality/fit/ drone?/
will be buying a turbo back single system and was looking for feed back on silverline t304 stainless. I know this subject has been talked about, but not much on the subject of long term use (durability) or drone at highway speeds.

My system is the 409 setup,so far the system has held up good.Fit was excellent there was no modification of pipes and hangars and the tip has not even stained like some of the other systems out there do.On the subject of drone if you have a auto then when you hit overdrive and the truck is at about 1400-1500rpm you get a little drone.Overall I think it is a great sounding setup and it fit better than my friends MBRP sp and sounds better.

i agree. the silverline is pretty great for the price. I ended up doing a slight modification to the tailpipe piece so I could make the tip fit under the truck, instead of sticking out and hitting people as I drove by. other than that, I don't notice a drone when I am up to speed.

I've got a few pics in my gallery

Not too loud, but will bellow some when you stand on it.
Once at cruising speed, it quiets down enough for me.
Haven't towed anything really heavy though, only about 6500 lb bumper tow trailer.

Well my father has a set of their duals on his powerstroke and he loves them. My stock exhaust on my Cummins has more highway drone then his does. Sounds really nice when he jumps on it. The duals were kinda a pain to get one and the downpipe on the 7.3 was a HUGE pain to get on but the system itself has been great. I would recommend it to anyone!

what i like is the fit(was able to install myself with no help at all), and mostly the sound. the sound is great outisde the truck but still very quiet in the truck. i get alot of compliments on the sound mostly though.....not as loud and annoying as mbrp and others..more of a tuned sound.

So it looks like I'm going to be the odd man out here. I've only ever installed two complete turbo back systems on my trucks. The first one I did was a Banks Monster system on my 03. The second was the Silverline 409 on my 06.
The difference between the two is night and day in fit quality and sound. The Banks system fit precisly. Every tube was circular, no beating was required to get the tubes into each other, and to date, I have yet to hear another diesel that sounded as high quality. There was absolutely no raspy/airy sound out of it. But, it was 700 bucks.
My Silverline on the 06 was a thinner guage of stainless, and most of the tubes were oval shaped, so I had to rubber mallet them into shape to even start. Then I had to beat them into final position. I had to trim about 8" off of the tail pipe so that it didnt stick out a mile. The clamps they have are flimsy - keep your old ones and use them. The sound is raspier than stock, but not really loud. I think my Banks was louder. I dont have much drone at all (didnt with the Banks either).

Well JThiessen, I'll join the odd man out club as far as fit/finish and install goes. I have the Duals kit and it came with two different lengths of pipe to fit between the down pipe and the muffler. One long pipe for long beds and a short one for short beds. Neither fit! I had to trim off alittle more than 4 inches off the long one to fit my truck. Also the hangers for the muffler didn't match up, so that took some major prying and coaxing. Lastly the U-bolts that it came with were complete crap. Every one stripped as we tightened them down, I had to reuse the stock ones. But man do they sound good. Not a whole lotta drone, but they are loud!

In retrospect, I'd go spend the extra on the Banks...not by a long shot though. Its definitly a higher quality system, but if its goiing to break your bank, then its not worth the extra.
As far as how Silverline compares to similarly priced exhausts, I have no idea.

my buddy chuckled at my banks exhaust (went on easy, fits perfect, sounds good) then he went with a "real" company like silverline. then i chuckled as he had to trim his to fit, and enjoyed the new banging sound of his exhaust on his spare tire... but he did save about $35!

I don't know about you but I can't stand to buy something and have to trim, cut, and fix it to fit. Drives me crazy. No issues at all with the Banks exhaust kit. Very, Very easy install. Fit like a glove so to speak. Banks hard parts are very hard to beat. You get what you pay for in them. Electronic's = No Thanks.
