silencer ring

silencer ring

i know it's probably a simple thing to do but can anyone tell me how to take out the silencer ring? thanks!

Take your air intake off the turbo, get a flat head screwdriver and pry the clip up that holds the ring in place, could be stubborn to pry, but once you get it off just pull the ring out. Then your done. That simple.

this is one of those " what are they? what do they really do? how do i get rid of them?" questions. lol
two straight screwdrivers one to pry up on the ring and one to pry outward with. pull the snap ring out then pull the ring out and put the intake tube back in.

That snapring can be stubborn... might need to use an o-ring pick to get under the end of it and then slip the screwdriver in to pry it out. Or do what I did, and grit you teeth and keep at it. It'll come out eventually, with some persistance.
