silencer ring and snap ring part #

Ok, I have always ran the silencer ring and a couple days ago I had some strange noises. Well I tracked it down to the silencer ring spinging as the snap ring had popped off and was in the intake tubing. This actually started after a bad turbo bark.

Maybe I didn't have it in the groove good when I swapped the 351 on.
Bottom line is the snap ring is bent and the actual silencer is marked up pretty good.

I called the cummins place and they couldn't find it for whatever reason. I want to put one back in so has anyone ever bought one? you have a part# by any chance.

Thanks

I need to check but I am almost positive I still have mine in the garage. If so you can have it and just pay for shipping.

Just a question, but why worry about having the silencer ring in a truck like yours (with so many mods)? Pulled mine and it was only slightly louder and didn't even notice it after a couple days.

grit dog, I hear ya and the simple answer is pure preference. The minute that ring came out of place, I knew it because the whistle was on my nerves and mine is more than slightly louder; atleast to my ears. Maybe I am just getting old, but I don't care for that sound. I guess like you say, I could get used to it, but if I can get one I am putting it back.

Guys, I appreciate the offers and will be more than happy to pay the shipping. I found it strange that the cummins place couldn't come up with it.

My kid has a f250 that runs that variable vane turbo and it sounds like a **** jet turbine spooling up, even just warming up and not moving! I thought mine was loud on my cummins until I heard his. Now I realize mine is just quiet as can be.
LoL
