should the swaybar end link come apart?

I had the front jacked up to change the front shocks, well the driver side swaybar end link came completely apart, the ball (lower)came completely away from the rod/cap (upper). the passenger side did not come apart when it was off the ground. Is this normal? does it matter?

Thanks, Dale

No, NOT normal, and I wouldn't drive it much like that (this is what controls side to side of the front axle) you turn to hard and the axle goes, truck might not.....

Many upgrades, could go to the 3rd gen style, buy a beefed up 2nd gen style (much larger ball joint end). There's a lot of companies that sell them, do a search on here, you'll find many.
