What Should I Do?

This problem first started with the trans not shifting from first into second without letting off the peddle. When i took the pan off to adjust the bands i found a small piece of metal in the pan. Adjusted the bands to spec. Front band went almost all the way in before i hit 72 in.lb. backed it off 2 turns. Loosened kickdown cable also. Seemed to shift better but after running a few days i started to notice that it seemed to be slipping a little in second gear.

Last night i dropped the pan again. Found two more small pieces of metal. Dropped the valve body. Found out that the band anchor was broke. The only reason it still worked half way was because it was wedged up against the trans case between to band and the adjustment bolt.

The band seems to be okay. The drum still looks smooth. Accumulator piston seals are cracked or worn. I never had one of these apart so don't know what else to look for.

Should i just get the thing rebuilt or should i replace the the few parts that are broke and see how long i can make it run? Chances are i need a govoner pressure solinoid and transducer to. Converter locks up good and does not slip as of yet. 145K miles.
