Wow, that's pretty cool. Would look great with some Megacab style fender flares. Kinda gets my mind working.

correct ...
for others thinking about swapping we had three axles on the gargage floor ...

the cab and chassis was 1" narrower PER SIDE than the SRW ...
which was in turn 1" narrower PER SIDE than the DRW pickup axle

freinds are amazed at how much better it handles than when it had 35's

and how much rougher it rides with doubled springs and 4 ten ply tires

I don't doubt it, my truck felt like it was riding on marshmallows w/ D rated 35's on it

Wow, just what I was looking for....... do you have any Numbers for widths on those.

I'm still trying to positively identify the disked D80 I recently picked up.

Thanks

I second the mega cab flares I'd love to have a set of them on mine wonder if the boby lines are close enough to make it look decent?
I do like the c&c rear under there I thought frame was narrower on c&c and tires would rubb the springs.

Demon ... sorry don't remember the widths ... but you aught to be able to just measure the distance from the spring pads to the backing plates on your truck and compare to the 80

linetrash79 ... frames are the same width ... at least on my father in laws '01

See he's the thing....... no ones been able to tell me where the width difference is found.

Is it in the axle tube length? (pumpkin to backing plate) and the hubs are all the same.

Or are the axle tubes all the same and the hubs are different widths......

I know the GM corp 14bolt FF has interchangable hubs.....from single wheel to DRW

i had a srw dana 70 ... so the hubs were different

the two drw axles that we had were both '96 model dana 80s
so were identical except for the axle tube lengths ...

this probably doesn't help you but i thought i'd throw it out ...

good luck and post whatever you find ...

From what I understand, the difference between a pickup and a c&c is the distance between the spring perches. Additionally, there is a difference between SRW and DRW in the spindles, as well as the hubs.
