Question Short Throw Shift for 05'

Hey all,

I just wanted to see if anyone knew if there is a short throw shifter kit out there for HD 6-Speed tranny in an 05' 2500? I beleive this transmission is known as the G56 if I am not mistaken, but I can't seem to find any short throw shiftkits for an 05.

Thanks,

Bryce

the one for the 3rd gen nv5600 will work if your trans is a nv5600, if it is a g56, you are out of luck for the moment. no short throw shifter avalable [to my knowledge] yet...

The G56 is the manual transmission used now and started "part way" through the 2005 model.

I have a 2005, but I have the NV5600 which they don't make anymore.

Both are heavy duty transmissions. You can't get anything but a HD transmission with the diesel engines.

sounds right... also by looking under the truck, you can see what you got. if it is a big hunk of cast iron [rusty probably too] it is the NV5600, if you see a mass of cast aluminum it would be the G56

the G56 has reverse towards you and back.

Sometimes it feels as though reverse is next to the right door. (especially if you're trying to find it in a hurry)
