Shocks besides Bilstein or Rancho?

What other shocks do you guys like on the front and why?

I've had both Bilstein and Rancho on the front and I'm looking for something else. The Bilsteins are too soft at slow speeds and I gave away the Ranchos I had before them.

Adjustable would be best.

Thanks.

I've been happy with my Bilsteins except the rears are porposing when towing my 5er. It only happens on fairly big bumps, but it's very annoying when it happens. I was thinking the 9-way adjustable Ranchos, but I also know they're really not that great of a shock.

Rob,

I've got Ranchos on the rear to prevent porposing and they work very well back there. I just go to the hardest setting when towing and I'm very happy with them. The Bilsteins are velocity sensitive and, on the front, I get a lot of bottoming at lower speeds. Never tried them on the rear because I'm sure they will have the same problem you mentioned.

I need something on the front with a higher, low velocity, compression damping. Probably adjustable like the Ranchos.

Please do!

I wish a bunch of us could get together with some extra money and do a real shock test-n-tune to find out what shocks work well with what springs. Test different shocks with stock springs on a stock truck both empty and towing letting everybody get a ride in the drivers seat. The more opinions the better. Then do it again with lifted springs and bigger trucks for the high rollers. Shocks are just too expensive to go testing them yourselves.
