Could I get folks to sound off on the best shock to use for my truck? I don't want to go cheap, but I don't want to buy them expensive ones either. Just a good brand for a 2WD truck. Thanks!

KYB Gas-a-Just slightly over Bilstein.
I've run both and for my taste the KYB was slightly better.

Bilsteins, special order, one day Auto zone. Lifetime warranty. Just got a new set for the front replaced free thru the lifetime warranty.

I thought one of the shocks was broke. My bad, turns out bottom bolt was a little lose. Autozone didn't care. "Just bring in the old ones" so new shocks for the front no questions asked. Can't complain about how they handle.

They do stock the Gabriels for a little less, but, I like how the Bilsteins feel and hold up. So far, 60,000 miles and 3.5 years on them and still good, just being replaced cause I thought one was bad. KD

Just insatlled one my truck yesterday KYB MonoMax on the front and the Gas-A-Just on the rears. As someone recommended from this sight. I was sick of waiting for the Bilstiens to be available for my truck and was getting desperate for a good ride before my truck gets old. Already 85,000 Kilometres/about 55,000 miles. So far.., I like the stiff ride. Booting down the highway this a.m. it felt like a sports car. I don't think I'll be dissappointed with them. also got the steering damper from KYB.
