Shift Kits and Skinny Bands
I'm back to looking at the TransGo TFOD/518 kit.
When I got my converter dave recommended avoiding a kit because the reverse band is so narrow on the 518 that if any throttle is applied in reverse it risks breaking the band. I got nervous because I've had to yank buddies out of places where I couldn't get to them in reverse, and places like those are terrible places to loose reverse.
I'm wondering what other peoples shift kit experiences have been like, what additional parts? What seat of the pants difference, what DOESN'T work!
Thanks Guys

This shop looks to have all kinds of upgraded parts for your autos, I used them to build a 700R4 for my IROC Camaro, good quality products, it looks like they sell a larger band, if it's the one you are talking about.

Put in the shift kit. It is a good upgrade. As for the reverse band, they have a solid band that will replace it. I have done all of these upgrades to mine and it makes a big difference. I pull 15500 lbs with mine.

what youre saying is i should just buy a fully built trans right? I'd go Goerends, with all the fancy parts he can throw into it. too bad that'll cost me a few months of side job income.
