View Full Version : selling truck, should I replace clutch
I'm planning on selling my truck. It has 152000 miles on it and as far as I know it has the stock clutch. I was wondering if I replace the clutch can I get enough more out of it to pay for it? It still works ok, no slippage but engages a little farther out then when I got it. With me driving I think it would last quite a bit longer but with someone new?? How long do these usually last. If you were buying a used truck like this what would you be willing to pay extra if it had a new clutch.

If the clutch is holding, it'll be fine. You'll be out well over a grand for a stock replacement plus labor and I personally wouldn't give a penny more for a truck with a new stock clutch. FWIW, this thread reads very much like a classified ad...you may want to lose the last sentence...just a heads up.

I would leave it. It's not slipping so don't waste your money and you won't get anything extra for it.
