Security Systems
Howdy Everyone,
I am looking to add some kind of security system to my truck. I have a keyless entry and I am not sure if that is a help or hinderence. I would also consider a remote starter but I have a manual tranny. Any suggestions on what to go with?
Update: Thanks for the info. I have pulled my thoughts about the auto start for now mostly because of the tranny issues. But would everyone reccomend a security system, no auto start that installs easily and works good with a stock keyless entry? Thanks once again. Ken

I find a full grown Catahoula in the back seat works very well. 
Depends on what you want your security system to do. You can spend a few bucks on an alarm type system, all the way up to the type that disable your truck if the alarm isn't "coded" properly.

From what I understand, you can't (or it's highly recommended that you DON'T) put a remote start on a truck (or car) with manual transmission. I'm sure it could be done with some sort of clutch override, but still don't think it's too good of an idea.

They are excellent and let you know if anyone is messing with your truck instantly. You can also use it on diesel it has a wait to start trigger mine the top end one can turn on AC or heat as well.
Shock sensors glass break sensors they have it all. Mine even has a leveling device if a tow truck was to hook on and try to tow/steal it the unit warns you because the angle the truck is sitting on has changed.
