Second Gen. Connecting Rods

i had read that the 2nd generation connecting rods are forged steel versus the 3rd generation connecting rods which are powdered metal cracked cap rod, does anyone know if this is true and can we use the 2nd gen rods in the 3rd gen motors? thanks

The 2nd gens will work fine. The 3rd's are not powdered metal. Rather a C70 micro alloy steel forging that has properties which allow them to be be cracked.

Unless you are going way crazy in HP, the cracked cap rods are very good indeed.

I have been running cracked Caps in mine over 100lbs of boost for 16 mos. My new motor has Cunninghams in it though whenever I finish it. Tim
