Seats

After driving my 03 for a few months now (I purchased it used) I have noticed that the driver's seat is super uncomfortable. This morning I sat in the pass side seat and it feels a lot better. I am guessing that the previous owner must of been rather heavy and broke the padding down. Does anyone know if you can replace just the seat's lower padding as well as a part number/cost?

I have to say that my 2005's seats are the world's most uncomfortable seats I have ever had. I have had them rebuilt a local upholstery shop 2X at the dealer's expense. The padding is cheap, breaks down, and there are two beams that run front to back that just press into my butt/thighs making anything but a short trip horrible. I found I had to buy one of those memory foam pillows and use that for added comfort. I understand the 2006 and up seats are redesigned.

Yeah I thought the ones in my 04 were more comfortable but I think that's just because they were a furrier cloth. I'd put seats in out of my 92' if I could, there awesome.

OK I agree with all the above. My 04.5 caused my legs to go numb, my 07, even though is has the never stain seats iwas just as bad from the cumfort side. Put 2" foam and a piece of carpet under the spring of teh driver seat and rides 100% better. Took less than 1 hour to remove seat and do modification and was worth every minute of it.

06+ seats have no lumbar support at all, I much prefer the older seats.

My 06, with bucket seats and center console, SLT trim level, has manual adjustable lumbar support on the driver's side seat.

The 06 seats are terrible with the metal bars running front to back. I tried to beef up the padding a bit it didn't help the bars any.

Guys I agree, I never really thought about it since it is a new truck and smells good and all. But, I recently drove the '07 650 miles in one day and noticed how hard the thing was on the rump. I then got into the '97 the next day and it was like pure luxury. I mean those old seats were absolutely wonderful to my fanny. Why did they screw up such a good seat starting in '98 and haven't figured out how to fix it yet!! Maybe they need to rehire the engineer that made the seats from '94-'97. He musta been a larger man than the wimp they have now
