Re:seat noise

What's wrong with my truck???? I don't have any rattles, squeeks, odd noises.....nothing! Not even the wind noise people keep talking about. It seems like a lot of guys are experiencing these noises and I'm anxiously waiting for mine to start. I feel left out.

Re:seat noise

Somehow, they musta put my truck thru the Soundproofing bath when they built it. I had a slight whistle from the rear sliding window once - turns out my son had left it ajar. Maybe they've started putting cheaper materials in once they got going? Mine's an early '03 - maybe I got one of the good ones?

Re:seat noise

Well, I'm pretty sure that DC IS changing our trucks to make'm cheaper to build. My truck is the Laramie - while I missed out on the underhood light, I did get the plood trim inside - that's going to be replaced by 'brushed aluminum' in the '04's. Some people don't like the plood, but I think it looks classy. I've got a lot of body-color parts, like the grille surround and the body-side mouldings - that stuff's going away in '04. The tow hooks become an extra-cost item, not in the Laramie package anymore. I wouldn't be one bit surprised to find that DC is using cheaper weatherstripping now, or less sound insulation, or even cheaper screws. Gunship, is your truck an early one? CumminsHO, is yours a later one? If both answers are "Yes", then maybe just maybe CumminsHO is a victim of DaimlerChrysler cost-cutting.

Re:seat noise

Mine is an early truck and I have no problems. The doors rattle very slightly on really choppy roads, but so far, that's it.

Re:seat noise

Mine was built in September of '02, and (aside from leaky roof lamps), she's trouble-free. We really might be onto something here!

Re:seat noise

mine was built 11-02 and NOTHING...i mean NOTHING...quieter than my 03 Passat...the only minor thing that bugs me is that when taking off at a light the seat rocks back a little bit in one certain seat position..just barely touch the switch forward or back and it is fine until my wife moves the seat again...but thats it...no leaky roof lights, no rear fender movement (dually) NO wind noise...humm...maybe we are on to something here.

Re:seat noise

i have same noise/ loose seat. appears to me the seat rails or bearings are wearing down like a poor alignment. left side only. it is etting worse with age but dealer will fix when i am ready. 13k and my only complaint. early build and holding up great otherwise.

Re:seat noise

No noises here, you seem to think that everyone has these noises but you are the only post that I have ever seen with any.
