Looking into intakes for my 05. Had a 97 Ford PSD with the Tymar intake, it worked great so I'm familar with the BHAF system. I'm curios about Scotty's system. I have read great things on this site, but I have'nt seen any pics of the RAIII installed. So looking for some pics and does it work with the Torque Tube or the cool Blue Tube? Thanks

The scotty 3 is a top of the line intake and yes there will be a cool blue hose for the Scotty 3. I will look for a picture and pm you when I find one

I have the Scotty RAIII and a blue cool hose in the mail, should be here by Wednesday, I will shoot pics and post them at that time. The RAIII with the stock tube fits perfectly.

What's the overall consensus of running this intakes? Are they safe as to not deteriate our engines by not filtering the particles properly? I have been bouncing back and forth on this and am having a hard time convincing myself to go ahead and get it. Comments>>>Thanks...

They are safe Uni Foam filters have excellent filtering capabilites, commonly used in Off road vehicles where Dirt and dust levels are extremely high

I like mine. I pretty much did the same as you nonford, pondered for a while before buying. Most feedback out here is that Scotty is top notch, the biggest complaint I have found during my research is $$$, most feel it is costly. I like the design and UNI filter are very good quality. My blue cool hose will be here soon (been waiting forever) and I will post pics after it is installed.

Thanks for the thread. I guess I will be needing to get one of those "cool blue hoses". That sure is alot of blue. How does it stand to the heat coming from the exhaust manifold? I know on my stock intake parts, it sits on the heat shield.

The Cool Hose, in my opinion, is overpriced. You can make it yourself with two 90 degree rubber elbows and 12 inches of 4" aluminum intake tubing for less than half the price. If they were cheaper I'd buy the Cool Hose and run it with a BHAF, but I can get just as good a flow for half the price by making it myself.

The Ram Air III is a great system from what I know about it. However, I'm still not sold on oiled filters so I haven't forked over the money for it yet. I do like that they're using the foam filters now instead of the AFE filter they were using.

My Cool Blu Hose has arrived and been installed. No road test yet, BUT I sure can hear that turbo sing just rev'n it up, makes a nice whistle!!
