SB 3250 PULLING CLUTCH? can this be done

Ok i was wondering if i could call South Bend and get the 3250 made with the 12cb instead of the 6cb

or is it not really worth it and just get the 3600dd

the only reason i ask is i dont know why i need to get the hydralic upgrades
i have a single that is rated for 3600 pressure plate load and my hydralics are just fine

but any ways if this does happen is it really worth it i want to pull a couple of times a year i figure at least 6 times just around my local area.

but i want a clutch that will beable to tow and drag race and pull also

i need to get the input shaft and flywheel also i have a 5 speed

I wouldnt even bother with a 3250 if I was gona pull. They do make a 12 puck 3250 but FWIW if I had to do it over again I would just get a 3850.

IMO the 12cb 3250 is fine if you are 550hp or under and just pull a few times a year and dont try to do burnouts. I have had the 3250 in all season and when I was closser to 600hp it held fine and I put probly 10-15 hooks on it, then my hp jumped to probly over 700 and now it will not hold and have put about 12 more hooks on it slipping badly every hook. I even got into the finals at Scheids with it. It still shifts fine and works good but just wont hold up when the pan hits on a sled and starts a spark show.

I would say for what you are wanting a 3250 is fine.

Bean does have a good piont. I guess I am just the type that over kill is just about right and I hate to do things twice. Not sayin you would have to do it twice with a 3250 but it is a possiblity.

Good luck with what ever you choose.

I have the 3250 DD (not yet installed). When I talked to Southbend, he asked me if I was going to sled pull (I said no). I was under the impression that if I said "yes" to that question, he would have told me to get a stiffer pressure plate.

You do realize there is no money differance in the 3250 and 3600 right?

I guess you want to get by without hydros but other then that they are the same price.
