Who says diesel's are hard to start?
I left my trruck in the care of my brother last May. Since then it's been sitting in the yard and hasn't been started at all. All I did was turn it off, lock it up and threw a tarp over it.
I asked my brother to try starting it and today he went out and hit the key and it started right up as if it had been running yesterday. He ran it for a few minutes to get it warm and charge the battery and then shut it off. It should be good for another 9 months.
I love this truck.

Unlike Gasoline, Diesel will keep for many years. It can grow bacteria so an additive is recommended after 6 months or so. I started my little Volkswagen diesel up after it had sat in the previous owners driveway for 7 years! I did change the oil and threw some stuff from walmart (can't remember what it was now) in the tank. I do love Diesels.

My truck has been sitting parked in my driveway/out front of my house for about a couple months now, due to myself getting my license suspended for DUI. I turn it on aboue every other day, starts just fine. Drive it around the block now and then to make sure everything is in order. Everything seems fine with the every other week block roundabout, seems sitting there has no real harm.

I agree, gotta love 'em. I had my trans out in my driveway for about a month, getting it rebuilt and waiting for parts. It wasn't too cold, but it hadn't been started up for a month. My buddy (who has an '06) said, "better get started priming the system." I told him nope, and it fired first crank .

I used to use my neighbor's Unimog when he was away and sometimes i'd go up there to get it when it had been sitting all winter in the shade, getting rained on for months with no battery charger or anything. That sucker would fire right up like I had just driven it that morning. I loved that rig.

My 92 set for about 3 years one time, and all i did was put a batt. in it, and after it turned over about 3 or 4 times it started right up.
I have tractors that sit for months at a time that always start right up too...
