Talking Savin' pennies for TST

I just got back from a test drive a friend's '05 with a newly installed TST. I've test driven a few other fuel boxes, but this thing is incredible! I know many of you know this already and have been trying to tell the rest, but I'm still in shock and needed to let it out. With it set just at 4/4 we were breaking the stock tires loose at 30mph. This got the waggin' finger from the local Barney, but it was well worth it. I've definitely decided where my piggy bank is going; the wife's Christmas present just got smaller.

Yea, I can't wait till I have enough saved up for that... but there's a long list of goodies that come before it which sucks.

Buy the TST.
As long as you keep it on lower levels you'll be fine with a stock clutch.

Well, other mods still include gauges of course. Then it's just other stuff that I want done. Plus the biggest thing that is keeping me from it is the fact that it's hard-wired into the system... it's not removable (w/o a lot of work) incase I need to go to the dealer for something.

I've seen the TST from their site (tstproducts.com) and from BD-Power as well. Price is 750 or so w/o gauges (EGT and Boost) and 825 w/ gauges. The other problem I have with them is I've never been able to get good customer service... makes me a bit weary to order from them because it doens't give me the warm and fuzzy I'll get some help if something goes wrong.

its not hard wired
plugs into factory plugs

the install is very easy and relatively quick

I can remove it in 15 minutes including the boost elbow on my turbo

whereas the banks w speed loader took about 6 hours to install

PourinDiesel... Do you have to use the digital gauge pack? Is this adjustable from inside the cab? How many settings are available? This CAN be stacked with Edge correct?
Sorry about sooooo many questions. There are so many options out there that I want the next cash outlay to be a good one, I already know it won't be the last. Maybe I need to start investing money into the "Other Ride" before the CTD blows it off the road.

Never mind all the questions, I found the web site and did a bunch of reading... impressive. Just to many choices who knows where I will go.

It only takes 15 minutes for install and removal? Everything I had heard about it before was it's mounted and hard wired in...

Bubba,
Its not. It takes about 1 hour if you are drilling for pyro on manifold.
I have one and it is all plug except for the power input which is just latched onto the fuses.
Really prett simple stuff.

I installed one the other day. It is easy and is all plugs. But it does take some time. Probably an hour or two the first time including drilling for the thermocouple if you get that model.

But once it's installed it's easy to see how you can remove it in 15 minutes.

Here is a link to the instructions..

Talking

I think I want one BUT... Santa says "No More Stinkin Truck Parts, blah blah blah" sure am glad Santa does not read these posts. I guess I need to raid the basement, garage and barns to sell some more of the useless (to me at least) stuff laying around here on eBay. After all that's how I got to where I'm at currently .
