Ryan from TRUCKS! TV checking in
Guys, (and gals?)
Just wanted to say "hi". I've been lurkin' for a while and thought I might as well join the group. My knowledge/experience with diesels is somewhat limited - that's why I'm here. We (Kevin and myself) are bulding a cummins powered tow rig for the show. I also just bought a '94 3500 that I'll be using to tow my junk around. Needless to say I am using the site to learn about the ins and outs of these 12 valves. Hopefully I can lean on some of you guys for some info when needed.

Welcome to the DTR! That's amazing that we have someone like you here... I hope that we can give you some good information.
If you want to build a killer track truck, dyno crusher, or pulling truck, there are people here that have amazing experience with any of those subjects. Let me know, I'll point you in the direction of them.
Let us know if you need anything...

Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm looking forward to hanging out here and soaking up some good info.
The truck we are putting together will take a while, and at first we are going to stick to somewhat mild upgrades. After that who knows??????
The plans for the TRUCKS! rig is to take a wrecked 97 Dodge and drop a 70's era Ford body on it. We know it might **** some people off mixing breeds like that but whatever. We wanted something unique and reliable so that is what we came up with. It will be our "real" tow rig not just a "tv" truck. Our V10 super duty is tired and sucks much fuel! Plus I've always wanted a Cummins with a 5 spd.
As for my truck............ its a pile It has 192K on it and is very used. I still dig the hell out of it! It's a 94 2wd dually with a 5 spd. the PO installed a #5 TST and 5" straight exhaust and I threw on a Flowmaster race muffler real quick before I put my wife in the truck for 1200 miles. More work to come - fix oil leaks, rebuild the trans, clean it up, bed liner, maintenance etc....

Welcome aboard. There is lots of great information available here. I love seeing different vehicles being built. Our service manager here Piers has exactly what you guys are building. A twin turbo 12v in a 77 Ford, so he could probably be a pretty good source of info for you guys. If you ever need anything feel free to shoot me a PM.....

Welcome Ryan, Sweet show I watch it when I can. As for the ford body on a dodge frame that will be cool. Then maybe the dodge could get 4 full doors and a HP D60 from that 70's ford wiht lock outs and no more CAD.
Of course now that your a member on here you will be posting pix of both of your projects right???? Good luck and lots of info on here man.
