rough Idle??

Bought an 06 with right at 40k miles 5" magnaflow and a diablo predator programmer that the guy swore by him only using on the performance setting, The truck run and drove unbelievable very solid tranny felt wonderful every thing was good felt like a new truck. But I did notice it had a slight lope at idle but he said that it was because of the programmer and it just needed to be updated. had him dump the program and take it back down to factory and it seemed to go away. I bought the truck and drove it six hours back home to AL. Didnt notice it to much on the way home felt it a little a couple of times at red lights but nothing much. But after getting some sleep I drove it to have the chrome wheels taken off and noticed it idles rough but other than that is great. it isnt enough to notice on the tach but you can feel it and slightly hear it??? any ideas

Do a search on the FCA. Fuel Control Actuator. My dad's truck ('03) was running poorly and would sometimes almost die it seemed. New FCA and it runs like new. It was $258 and was easy to change. It might be something else too but that is my experience.

my truck does this sometimes. kinda sounds like it is ideling on 5 cyl instead of 6. As soon as i touch the gas pedal it is gone. until it is back to a idel. i can really notice mine from the exhuast tone. prolly cause i have a stack. But it comes and goes like this.

To get the codes, turn the key on (do not hit the starter) then off three times. On the third time leave the key on, the codes will appear in the odometer display. They will start with a P if there are any codes.

the truck had a programmer on it but before i bought i got the guy to take it down to stock reflash, still got the programmer its a diablo predator so i used it to try and pull any codes before i knew of this feature, and to the other post thats exactly the way my truck acts i can hear it through the exhaust especially this morning when it went into high idle but it automatically clears up with a blip of the throttle, then goes back to it just like you said, i have 5" magnaflow not sure it would be to noticeable with stock exhaust, oh by the way the predator didnt turn up any codes it said it was clear

my 05 does this also ,but not all the time ,when it does i change the fuel filter and it clears it up ,then after a couple thousand miles sometimes less it will start again ,change fuel filter every 2500 miles with oil to keep things fresh ,it seems to help but not how it should be.CUMMINS states every 15,000 miles ,seems to long for my truck.its not the answer to our problem but it works for now ,maybe time to replace FCA as stated . (anybody have the real answer)
