I think your going to rub. Most of the time your going to need an axle forward lift because your axle is being pulled towards the rear of the truck when you don't replace the control arms with longer arms.

I have the 5" with 37" tires. If you have mud flaps... they will rub. without, no rub. Running 38 I believe your rubbing! My 2 cents. 5" plus 2" spacer should do it but you'll need longer arms then what comes with the 5" kit. Do it right and get the correct kit from the start.

I think that a 5 or 6 in lift that offers an axle forward will work. The biggest thing is getting an axle forward kit to get the axle away from the rear of the fenders, not that the tires will not fit under the lift it's self.

The axle forward setups will help with rub on the back of the fender but it can also cause the tires to rub at the front. If you have an SLT you can trim or remove the valance for a little extra clearance. If you have a Laramie bumper you will have even less clearance.

I have yet to meet anyone that rubbed on the front because of a axle forward kit. Most axle forward kits are only 5/8in to 3/4in forward from stock. Unlike the few inches they get pulled to the rear when raising the truck without replacing the control arms.

Also to the OP, keep in mind this only keeps you from rubbing from the movement of the axle forwards and backwards, you still need to get the correct backspacing for your wheels so you do not rub the control arms. With 12.50 wide tires you will more than likely need 5.7in backspacing if yo get a 9in wheel
