Ok well I have an idea floating around in my head that I would like to get out. I was looking for something in the shop the other day and started fidgeting with a RB pump off of an IH 1566 sittin on the floor and realized that there is about 15* mechanical advance built into the pump! I mod these pumps all the time to make 500+ hp and they are lying all over the place (230hp truck pumps are most common)... Now I realize that the RB pump is very similar to a Bosch VE pump in that there is only one pumping plunger then a rotating distribution head... The thing that I like about the RB pump is that I can get a 13mm pumping plunger vs a 10mm plunger in the VE pump.

Now I have two problems that need to be addressed though.
1) The RB pump is a three bolt mount
2) The RB pump rotates at engine speed

Now I have plenty of machinist friends so I can come up with a custom timing cover and gears... Just wanted to see what you guys think of it...
