Talking Road Trip with Son

Leaving this afternoon from Massachusetts. (around 800 miles one way)

I changed the oil (Valvoline Premium Blue switched from Rotella) and a new Fleetguard Stratapore filter, New FG Fuel filter, changed power steering fluid (Valvoline ATF-4), Plus added hose clamps to radiator and power steering hoses.

Changed front brakes with NAPA Ultra Premium rotors and calipers along with EBC Greenstuff pads. Changed most of the brake fluid, changed rear end fluid (Amsoil Severe gear (Only had two qt's so we sucked it out with mighty vac and added the Amsoil.

Will make a stop in DC to see the Air museum (Not sure which one yet).

Will bring laptop and will post a few pics along the way.

road trips with kids are the best

my 12 year old daughter and I picked up our 1st gen in Terre Haute, IN last year, drove it all the way to Cleveland, OH to visit relatives, Gloucester MA to visit friends, then to Marthas Vineyard to be with family and then back down to Rye, NY (two weeks later we replaced brakes, brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tank straps + on + on).

now she's thirteen and in two weeks we'll be heading back up to Gloucester, MA to drop a Gravely four-wheel tractor at my friend's place. Then it's up to Fogg Farm (LL Bean's shooting facility in Freeport, ME) so I can introduce her to the shotgun sports. from there we'll head three hours northwest to spend three days at the White House Landing in Millinocket, ME, which is actually an Appalachian Trail lodge (we'll get there via 10 miles of logging road and will haul gear and groceries in for the lodge owner). Then we'll head back to Gloucester for a few days to see the same friends, and then back home to Rye. The truck is running like a top and we are both excited to make the trip.

take lots of pics!
