Road Armor front bumper

Anyone in here running one of these front bumpers?

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...4&d=1232501254

I am going to make my own bumper and wanted to get a few pictures of inside of the bumper. If anyone has a Road Armor bumper and could take a few shots from under the truck I would greatly appreciate......... Thanks....

Wow. Those are very nice looking bumpers. I doubt one will ever be in my budget though. Good idea on building one yourself.

How did you pick up a CC long bed 4x4 5 speed for $2700?

There is an old thread on pirate4x4 that gives all the measurements for a similar looking bumper. Im pretty sure I have it bookmarked - I will try to find the link for you when I get home tonight.

Would be easier to build it from cardboard but probably wouldnt be as sturdy...

Ha funny you say that DR. Evil.. I started thinking about building one of my own last summer.
My first step was to get a bunch of cardboard and cut and make a template.
Then take it to a steel shop and have em cut it all to shape and size and start welding.
Still thinking about it, maybe this thead will get me goin on it again!

i have already made one out of cardboard. just make sure you tape the seams together realy well or else its really flimsy. once warm weather comes around i will get to taking off my bumper and mocking it up in place and making final corrections and customize it. i would like to get a set of stock bumper mounts and use those to bolt to the frame since they already have the correct holes in them.

I made my bumper and kept the oem mounts. pro/ is you keep the adjustable part if you hit something there is 3 bolts to adjust. con is I think it really isn't as strong as you would think. either make a thicker plate to slide in and use the oem holes. and get 8 grade bolts. some have chose to weld up to the frame ends. I did not because I think there is give and alittle give is good for impact and less chance of hurting the frame. www.lmctruck.com has the oem bumper brackets

if your going to spend the time and effort to build your own bumper, design something you like and make it. its costs alot either way, make it your own.
