Question on the right track?

Ok guys just wanted to see if I am on the right track. I have been readin all 36 pages of this forum, and I wann know if I am headin in the right direction. My truck is a 2000 5spd afe magnum air intake 4" exhaust. I got the boost and egt gauges in (still waitin for my fp ) my edge comp arrived today but I will wait for the fp gauge before hookin it up. I am gonna leave the pump untapped for now (afraid the clutch wont hold). My next planned mods are Scotty's smart fuel system, exhaust brake, a new South Bend clutch, then tap the pump. Injectors of some sort are to follow then a new turbo etc etc still doin my homework. So let me know if i am headed in the right direction.
Thanks in advance
Joe

It sounds reasonable to me. I would move the clutch up the list a little so you can make use of the comp box, but I think you have a good plan.

i can only see one thing i would and to the shopping list that is a fass set up ether a fass1 or a fass2 . i went with the fass2 cause i already had the scotty lines. i agree with rockwith jason about moving the clucth up on the list.

A healthy stock clutch will handle the Comp 5x5 but nothing more.....a marginal clutch will run into problems on 5x5.......definitely get the clutch before injectors, though!!! I would recommend the Smartfuel - it works very well with the stock LP.

Thanks guys
I moved the clutch up on the list but the mods gotta wait till i build my porch and deck or I'll be sleeping in my truck. (are the seats comfortable to sleep in?) Till then I can do my homework so when funds arrive I can get the parts that will get me what I want.

i got the edge comp, and I think I have a stock clutch (not for sure) but on 5 by 5 I can floor it in 5th gear and the clutch doesnt slip at all.

The driver's seat isn't too bad, but it's hard to sleep in the truck. I signed the book at bakersfield and slept in mine it was not a good night. Do the deck.

Run your clutch until it starts dying. Everyone said my stocker would never hold the power level I am at, but it does. Replacing a good clutch is a waste of money.

FASS is also not necessary. Factory LP with Scotty's smart fuel system should take you near 450hp, maybe more. 5 psi min is all you need. Unless you have had chronic LP problems, hold off on the FASS. After all, if you just want a more reliable pump, they can be had at much lower cost. Try the Aeromotive Street Rod pump. It will put out all the fuel your truck will ever need and cost less.

The FASS is only needed if you want the air removal capability, which I think is nice, but pricey. If you just want a reliable pump, the FASS is not the lowest cost long-term solution.
