06-07 2500 with a Cummins will have less emission stuff to have to worry about for logevity and performance. Will also get better fuel milage. 07.5-09 will have the blue tech green diesel that don't get great mileage and has few emmission componet bugs. Not horrible and not nearly as bad as fords. If you want a diesel you will need to get a 2500 or bigger. The only hicup with the 06-07 is the injectors. if lower mileage it is recommened to put better filtration on the truck as this ULSD and poor filtration the truck comes with is starting to eat injectors around 130-150k miles. If you want to modify for more power the 06-07 are your best bet. This is just my free opinion there is a wealth of information on here. Happy reading and welcome to the DTR!!!
