Reprogram 07 speedometer?
Anyone found a way to reprogram the speedo for bigger tires?
I had Les Schwab put on some 295's. I checked my speed with a GPS after and I was off about 2.5 mph at 65. My dealer messed with it today and now I'm off about 10%, much worse. Did Schwab program something, do they do that?
The dealer set if for the 285's in the program menu. Seems like I should have left it alone.

I think you gotta get the dealer to excercise their brains a bit and take into account both numbers. 285/what? They can use both numbers to come up with the overall circumference...then find the nearest size in the computer that comes nearest the same circumference. Just becausse they programmed it to a 285 doesn't mean it'll be closer. The overall circumference of a 285/50 is less than a 285/75, assuming the same size wheel (sheesh...I hope I got that right!!!). LOL!
Could be that the stock setting was closer to the new circumference than what they changed it to....doubtful the tire place changed anything.
