Replacement Concave Mirror
This big ol' cedar tree ripped the little concave mirror off my towing mirrors the other day on the drivers side. Dodge wants me to buy the whole mirror from the door out just to get the little one. I told them to quit smokin' crack.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this mirror at an affordable price?
Thanks for you help.

Was about to post this topic myself, when I saw this thread.
I closed my drivers door and mine fell out and shattered. Also told by Dodge that entire mirror assembly had to be bgt!
Where is that post about a Dodge Graveyard?? Anyone have any ideas?

I thought I might go to a junk yard and peel on off a wrecked truck. Thing I don't know is, can I remove it without breaking it. It is only held on by a little square of sticky crap. Anyone know?

I found a pretty good fit at Walmart...called "Hot Spots...Convex Mirror".
The size is just right...the shape is close....fits in the slot well.
Have not tried removing the mirror from its sloped backing (plastic holder) but even with the backing it is something only another CTD owner would notice....Around $3.00!

Thank you all for your ideas. I didn't realize how much I use the one on the drivers side until I pulled my 24' trailer with out it. I miss my "curb checker" mirror!

Sticker Shock
Talked to one dealer today. Available in 2 days from Burco...ONLY $62.40 + tax!!!!
She thought it sounded high also...and is double checking....but that's what they told her for Burco #3901?
If that's the correct price...everyone should go make sure their convex inserts are on tight! As 4x4dually said above...it's held on by a 1" sq piece of two sided foam ahesive tape. When mine fell out the tape was dried out, with very little stickem left!

Burco Price confirmed!
While it's nice that there is an after market supplier... $62.00+ for a convex mirror seems like gouging to me.
I cut the $3.00 "Hot Spot" mirror from Wal Mart (mentioned above), out of it's plastic case and velcroed the convex mirror part in place. Have not driven with it yet...but the look is VERY close to factory, IMO.

My father owns and operates a body shop. I think I'll have him explore the junk yard idea. He has numerous salvage contacts. I'll see if he can find any and what they want for them. I'll let you all know if I have any luck. Maybe I can find a dozen of them and sell them for $50.00. Just kiddin'. I'm not a jerk like the freaks that put sissy mirrors on 4x4 trucks with a 1 inch square of sticky tape. How stinkin' retarded is that any way? When is the plastic transmission housing comin' out? Maybe some carbon fiber dual wheels?

Is the heating element located in the glass or behind it if so then i should think a glass shop should be able to provide one . Any ideas ? Thanks

Sorry rattlerbob. I got the "here's your towing mirrors but we aren't smart enough to put a heater in them yet" package on my 2002. I don't know much about the heated ones. Good luck.

Does anyone know where a 2002 or similar truck with the towing mirrors could be lying in a junk yard so I can buy a stinking convex mirror for less than $80?
